The Journey Behind Paint Yourself Clean
An amazing product invented Memphis. We are on a mission to instill good personal hygiene habits in children from an early age, promoting a CLEAN, HEALTHY, and SAFE LIFESTYLE. If you’re a parent or grandparent, you likely understand the struggle of getting kids to take a bath. When our children were younger, we often faced challenges during bath time. My husband, a talented artist in Memphis known for painting official portraits of two Memphis mayors and a Shelby County mayor, inspired a lighthearted moment when I expressed my frustration, saying, “I wish you could paint these kids clean while they’re in the tub.” That playful remark ignited the inspiration for “PAINT YOURSELF CLEAN” — a way to transform bath time into a fun experience not just for our seven children, but for kids everywhere. Larry Walker ran with the idea, sketching designs of an artist’s palette filled with soap instead of paint, allowing kids to play and actually get clean at the same time with a uniquely designed art brush. Over the past decade, we have poured time, money, and resources into bringing this product to life. Our faith has been tested, but we were reminded that “If It Is To Be, Then It Is Up To Me.” With determination, we shifted our focus from IDEA (thought) to REALITY (actual product). We committed to having the ‘PAINT YOURSELF CLEAN’ Personal Hygiene Set available by 2020, even if it meant investing every extra penny into its development. Larry, myself, and even our older children contributed, purchasing items for our product package one piece at a time. Then, the pandemic hit. By March, we had secured 60% of what we needed to launch in 2020. The global emphasis on cleanliness during the shutdown felt like perfect timing — what we considered God’s AMAZING TIMING. As Dr. Seuss said, “Inch by Inch, It Is An Absolute Cinch.” With each piece we received, we began to truly BELIEVE that 2020 would be the year we saw “PAINT YOURSELF CLEAN” come to fruition. Why are we so excited? Because of the incredible journey that God has taken us on, bringing us to this pivotal moment with a commitment to keep moving forward. Once you make a decision, pray, take action, and trust that God is the PROVIDER of everything you need, there’s no limit to what you can achieve. With patents pending and trademarks secured, we are READY to launch and can’t wait to share the continued story with you.
